    Medication Management

There are many sources of ongoing chronic pain. Unlike acute pain, which is a normal trigger the body generates to alert you to a possible injury, chronic pain is different. The pain persists for weeks, months or even years and can lead to anxiety and depression, as well as a host of other physical issues.

Living with chronic pain can impact all aspects of day-to-day living. From completing simple tasks in your daily routine to earning a living, chronic pain left untreated or under-treated can bring life to a halt. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) estimates that 20% of U.S. adults (50 million) live with chronic pain, which costs the nation up to $635 billion annually (CDC 2018).

Chronic pain treatment is complex, with a diverse range of medications designed for specific conditions and severity. Gravity helps your physician select the best medicine for your individual body, and that means a faster path to identifying the best option to bring you relief. Our pharmacogenetic (PGx) test for chronic pain will show your physician how your individual DNA responds to the various medications to help you get back to your life.

    Substance Use Disorder

Substance use disorder (SUD) is a long-term, complex condition where individuals struggle to control their use of substances despite serious risks to their health and well-being. Unlike casual or moderate substance use, SUD alters the brain’s reward and stress pathways, creating persistent cravings and physical withdrawal symptoms. This condition can significantly impact mental health, often leading to co-occurring issues like anxiety and depression, and can worsen other physical health problems.

For those affected by SUD, everyday life can become increasingly difficult, interfering with work, family responsibilities, and personal goals. Without effective treatment, SUD can make even the simplest tasks feel overwhelming. The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) reports that approximately 20 million adults in the U.S. face substance use disorders, contributing to an estimated $740 billion in healthcare costs.

Effective treatment for SUD is personalized and can include behavioral therapies, medication-assisted treatment, and ongoing support. While the road to recovery is often challenging, comprehensive care can provide individuals with the tools and support needed to regain control over their lives and build a path to long-term wellness.
